Resilience

My forthcoming book . . . and my PDC talk

By Dr. Larry Richard

Welcome to everyone who follows me on this blog site. As some of you know, my wife (she’s also a psychologist) and I have been working on a book that the ABA asked me to write. In the book, we focus on how you can better understand lawyer stress, on how to raise resilience, and above all on what strategies science offers us to boost our well-being in a time of increasing uncertainty and challenge. The book is tentatively titled “Thin-Skinned: Why Lawyers Are So Low in Resilience, and the New Science That Can Help.” I’m hoping it will be published before year’s end.

In the meantime, I will be speaking at the PDC Summer Conference in Chicago on Saturday, July 12th from 9:00 to 10:00 am. During this session, I’ll present highlights of the book and my research findings, including some useful, evidence-based ways to raise your own resilience.

If you want to attend the conference, here’s a link: https://bit.ly/3Rx8yib

See you there!
